JNTC (CEO Cho Nam-hyuk, Jang Yoon-jung), which is preparing to become a global state-of-the-art material company, officially announced on the 22nd that it has completed a plant dedicated to semiconductor glass substrates with a monthly production of 10,000 units for the first time in Korea, declaring full-scale entry into the market for its new semiconductor glass substrate business, which is its core growth engine in the future. As part of establishing a foundation for preoccupying the global market in the future, it is expected to generate substantial sales through mass production of customer orientation from the second half of this year.
JNTC has signed NDAs with a total of 16 global customers and has entered the stage of providing customized samples tailored to the needs of each customer since it officially entered into a new business for semiconductor glass substrates in April last year. In addition, in early May, it merged with COMET, a subsidiary specializing in plating and etching processes, completing vertical integration of all production processes, and strengthening its quality and cost competitiveness by internalizing core technologies in facilities manufactured by its affiliate JNTE.
A company official said, “The recently completed production line is located inside the Hwaseong Mado Industrial Complex in Gyeonggi-do Province and has a production capacity of up to 10,000 units per month, and from the second half of the year, mass production of some customers is expected to be shipped and full-fledged sales are expected.” “In the fourth quarter of this year, we plan to proactively respond to the increase in demand from global customers by expanding large-scale production lines to local subsidiaries in Vietnam,” he added.
In addition, according to a company official, “We believe that the glass substrate business, which is currently accelerating, will become a new mid- to long-term growth axis for JNTC,” he said. “As we are preparing various semiconductor and AI-related high value-added products in addition to semiconductor glass substrates, our company will be in a very important position as a global leader in the AI-centered semiconductor market in the future.”
“We plan to communicate the details of the new business, including the TGV glass substrate business, separately through a corporate briefing scheduled for June 30 at the KRX Conference Hall,” said Cho Nam-hyuk, CEO of JNTC. “From the second half of this year, we will become a global state-of-the-art material company in a short period of time by discovering various AI-based new business models centered on TGV glass substrates and switching to a full-scale mass production system.”
